Chekhov’s tale of a strained family visit simmers with petty animosities, unrequited loves, and the grand tragicomedy of the human condition. Characters grapple with purpose, regret, and the search for meaning in the ebb and flow of conflict and release. The work is stripped to bare bones and set to music in a dream space, both birch wood and train station.
