Marsha Johnson, Playwright of – MOONDANCE

I had never produced a show but now found myself needing to produce a full, ninety -minute musical. I knew we needed to begin; we needed to get our show on its feet. The confines of a festival made me reluctant to go that route. Would the show even resemble itself with a minimal set, honed down to 90 minutes? I viewed a festival as a needed compromise. How wrong I was!  From the moment we received our letter of acceptance the support and good feeling poured in, never dissipating. I feel it still one week after our show’s run has ended. I don’t think I could have produced Moondance without the Festival’s guidance. We were taken care of at every step, limits were established and caused me to look at our script with new eyes and it became stronger for it. Thank you, Fall/Summerfest for partnering with us. I never felt alone during one of the most challenging undertakings of my life.
