Madylon McGeehan and Henry Elters are high school sweethearts but her parents are bitterly opposed: Henry is Jewish. Set against the backdrop of America’s entry into the Second World War, this ill-fated relationship results in a botched abortion and a scandalous Manslaughter trial.
