Madylon McGeehan and Henry Elters are high school sweethearts but her parents are bitterly opposed: Henry is Jewish. Set against the backdrop of America’s entry into the Second World War, this ill-fated relationship results in a botched abortion and a scandalous Manslaughter trial. Timely as it is provocative this true story illustrates the unintended consequences of outlawing abortion.

Bio.

Lydia Merritt has been writing plays, screenplays, poems and short stories since the 2000’s. She had staged readings at the 13th Street Theater; CUNY Graduate School; United Auto Workers Center; worked with the Moonstone Repertory Company founded by Thelma Carter from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts; Women’s Theater Rep Co. Finally, Lydia taught Theater and Film at Queens College for several years.
