Manny is a young African American poet struggling to fly with her lack of wings. In a world in which she feels like a kiwi, an ugly flightless bird, she strives to win a poetry slam competition. This play explores the themes of domestic violence, racism,
and sexual assault.

Playwright’s Bio.
Theresa is an African American actor and playwright. She has also directed and was a master electrician for a theatre company. The goal of her writing is to not only provide a safe space for people of color but to bring a wide range of people together through poetry. She performed in an award-winning production of For Colored Girls… by Ntozake Shange. Shange is a huge inspiration for her writing and acting.
