Blurb

The Obituary is a one act play about a father and son’s relationship as they deal the son’s sexual identity and deep family secrets. While preparing the corpse of his father for the funeral, Thadius Gohagan the IV, a third generation mortician, comes out to his father about his failing marriage and his love for his “best friend”. His father’s spirt arises from the coffin and confronts him.

Bio.

Benjamin D. Smith, is an actor, director, and instructional artist who earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics with a minor in Theatre from Florida A&M University. He is currently attending Harvard University where hs is working on his Master in Dramatic Studies. Also, Benjamin works for George St. Playhouse as an Teaching Artist in New Jersey Public Schools.
