Blurb
Sunbeam centers around a theme of returning to one’s spiritual practice after religious trauma. I hope audiences will have a new way to investigate religious trauma without shame. Sunbeam is a way to digest “god” as a form of gratitude.

Bio.
K Stanger is a New York based playwright, performer, and creator. She strives to build art through care, community and laughter. K as a playwright expands the comedic into the vulnerable with stories focusing on women, queerness, and survival. K’s recent credits include, ORACLE (Reading at LaMama ETC), 100 FEET IN THE AIR (The Tank NYC), SUNBEAM (Sarah Lawrence College).
Bio.
Sarah Kimberly Becker is a NYC based theatre maker and educator. Becker has performed at Regional Theaters, ZACH Theatre (Austin), The Catastrophic Theatre (Houston), Austin Playhouse (Austin), The Tank (NYC), and directed plays at Street Corner Arts (Orphans by Lyle Kessler) and La Mama ETC (K. Stanger’s Oracle). Becker is an MFA Candidate in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College.

Julia VanTrees Cowitt is excited to be reprising her role as God! A writer, actor, puppeteer, and theatre educator, Julia earned her BA in Anthropology at SUNY Purchase and her MFA in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College. Julia Duffy is a New York City based actor and writer. Julia created and produced Things(Un)Said, workshopped at the Austin Film Festival in 2019 and 2020, the pilot episode placing in the top 20 percent of entries. Julia used to find writing about herself in third person annoying, until she realized it brings her closer to her hero, Elmo 🙂
