Nicholas Louis Turturro is an actor, visual artist, and creative collaborator based in New York City. Having moved to New York in 2019 right before the COVID-19 pandemic halted most performance opportunities, he is thrilled to be back on stage playing Jack in The Great Divide. Over the course of his early career, Nicholas has worked on a variety of staged projects produced at The Tank, Soho Playhouse, The Flea Theatre, Culture Lab LIC, and Lenfest Center for the Arts. Most recent theatre credits include It Will Rise Soon Enough at Lenfest Center and The Tragic Historie of Maximillian Robespierre at The Flea Theatre. Recent film and commercial credits include the upcoming short films Pillow Talk & Spiritual Shit, as well as an in-app advertising campaign for Bumble.
Nicholas is a founding member of The Fled Collective (formerly known as The Bats) and frequently performs in their SERIALS programming. He also has self-produced three performance painting installations in 2022 and maintains a consistent painting practice, more information can be found on his website. He is represented by UGA Talent.
He thanks you for coming to support live theatre and hopes you enjoy The Great Divide!
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Nicholas began performing in high school and graduated from Syracuse University's BFA acting program in 2019. During this time he studied under the tutelage of industry veterans and active casting directors such as Ralph Zito, Paul Davis, David Caparelliotis, Katherine McGerr, and many more. During his time in undergrad he spent a semester studying at Shakespeare's Globe in London, cumulating in a performance of Much Ado About Nothing on The Globe's stage where he played Benedict. Upon graduation, he was invited to join the group of resident artists at The Flea Theatre, where he worked and trained with many of New York's up-and-coming actors, directors, and writers. When the pandemic hit the city and shut down in-person training opportunities, he moved his practice online and completed Audition Art's eight-month virtual training program, where he learned the craft of self-taping for film and television.
He continues to train with Audition Arts in their alumni classes, as well as continuing to engage with early career directors and writers participating in SERIALS with The Fled Collective.
