BIOGRAPHY:
Natasha Lorca Yannacañedo is a multifaceted artist, excelling in the realms of acting, directing, and casting direction. Her creative portfolio spans independent film, radio, audio dramas, primetime television, and a multitude of stage productions. Holding a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater, she has been a company member of esteemed theater companies including Harlem Shakespeare Festival, Take Wing and Soar, Judith Shakespeare Company, and Theatre in the Flesh. As a certified Emotional Body instructor, Natasha integrates trauma-informed practices into every aspect of her work as a professor and acting coach, committed to nurturing both the artistic and personal growth of her students while creating supportive, mindful spaces for learning and creative exploration. In addition to her artistic body of work, Natasha holds the position of Professor at Eugenio María de Hostos Community College. Her contributions to the arts and academia have been recognized with prestigious fellowships from apexart, the Charles E. Scheidt Fellowship in Atrocity Prevention at Binghamton University’s Institute for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention, and the Council of American Overseas Research Centers in partnership with The Americas Research Network. Of all her achievements, her greatest joy comes from being a mother to her fierce, bright daughter, Amara, and a partner to her multi-talented Renaissance husband, Dane.
