Monica Joy Cancian

BIOGRAPHY:
Monica Cancian is a biracial playwright born and raised in New York City. She loves writing plays that have to do themes with the supernatural and spirituality. She also writes plays on social issues. Monica is invested in the psychology of characters which is why she writes complex characters and loves adding so many different layers to her plays. The playwrights she is inspired by is Lynn Nottage, August Wilson, William Shakespeare, Tennesse Williams and Suzan-Lori Parks.
