BIOGRAPHY:
Lauren Komer (Stage Manager & Assistant. Director, Soirée at Walter Benjamin’s, Winterfest, 2023):
Lauren is an emerging director and designer for theater and film based in New York. A majority of her work explores the convergence of theater, film, and interactive media, gravitating to the experimental and postmodern margins that challenge traditional definitions of “live” theater. Her work has appeared in Boston, New York, and, internationally, in Europe and the U.K. Off the job, Lauren is a pole aerialist and burlesque dancer.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Education: B.A., Theater, Brandeis University, 2020. Studies in playwriting and dramaturgy, St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Lauren combines an awesome range of theatrical talents and sensibilities, making her indispensable to any production with which she is affiliated. On the production of Soirée at Walter Benjamin's, she offered crucial guidance regarding the set and the costumes to Ana Novacic; and, along with Aaron Abramowitz, the accompanist, coached the entire cast in its singing roles. All the while rendering stalwart service as the Assistant Director, organizing rehearsals, reports, and schedules.
