BIOGRAPHY:
LAUREN EBNER is a kind of funny WRITER / DIRECTOR with an unintentional background in film production. She was a screenwriting major in the Dramatic Writing Program at NYU Tisch and began working on film sets in 2014. She currently works as a script consultant, developing and co-writing screenplays for a variety of writers, and is the lead producer on an indie titled ALMOST GRACE, set for production in Jully 2024. During the last ten years, Lauren was freelance until, in 2019, she signed on as Head of Production at ANDRE BATO CORP, an NYC-based commercial production company. Lauren developed their narrative branch & co-wrote and co-produced a five-screen cinema installation titled GOOD MORNING (2021). Lauren also wrote and directed her short film (MANIC)QUIN, which had its premiere at Hollyshorts Film Festival in August 2022, beginning the experimental festival journey that followed in 2023. Last year, Lauren’s favorite collaboration was when she creative produced a short film titled SOFT ANIMALS written and directed by NICK GRAU, which is to say she bounces between writing and producing depending on the project. Lastly, she was an associate producer for writer / director MARY BRONSTEIN through all phases of production on Mary’s feature film IF I HAD LEGS I’D KICK YOU, an Elara Pictures and Fat City production for A24. Alongside ALMOST GRACE this summer, the NYTF will host the theatrical debut of SAD, FIRST.
