BIOGRAPHY:
Irina Malygina is a Ukrainian actress and theatre director. In her fifteen-year career in Kyiv, she has participated in more than 20 theatre shows, lead roles mostly, and has actively toured throughout Ukraine. She has also directed and released three plays at the Kyiv "1000letie" Theatre. Irina has actively appeared in Ukrainian television series and is best known in Ukraine for her roles in "The Story of a Crime" (8 seasons, lead) and "The Call" (2 seasons, lead). In Ukraine she has performed in 2 short films, 29 TV series and 2 feature films.
Iryna founded her own theatre “Chocolate” and their first play was planned to premier on March 8 th, 2022 . Due to Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 th all plans were cancelled, including filming of the 4 th season of “The Call”, and Iryna has decided to move to the USA where she resides now.
Since September 2022, she has been living in New York City, working on independent theatre projects.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Iryna has a Master`s Degree in Performing Arts from Kyiv University of Culture.
