BIOGRAPHY:
Gerry Glennon is an Irish Actress from Nenagh Co. Tipperary She moved to New York in 1983 to follow her dreams She studied acting at HB Studio with the late great William Hickey who she also thanks for giving her the wings to fly. She has performed over 19 plays Off Broadway at Manhattan Repertory Theatre portraying many great characters. Some of her favorites include This is your brains on Shamrocks where she played Coleen Mc Bris where she played Ma Past Perfect where she played Susan The living Room where she played Sadie Skyline Return where she played the wife Some other favorite roles she has played throughout the years is Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Bridget in Faces to the rain One of Gerrys all time favorite plays is Dancing at Lughnasa and she has been cast four out of the five sisters in different productions. She loved each and everyone but she would love the chance to play Maggie again. She also has written and performed her own plays ‘Forget me not’ which she also directed and played Mam and won best play at the MRT play competition. She aslo wrote two one woman shows ‘My Moment’ and ‘ My Self-Portrait’ she performed both at Manhattan Repertory Theatre. She opened for David Gilna, a fellow playwright and Actor when he toured his award winning Play A Bolt from the Blue from Ireland last year. She wrote a shot piece called An Emigrants Heart and performed it at The Greek Culture Theatre in Astoria & An Beal Bocht in the Bronx
