Christopher McVay is an actor, writer, and director based in New York City. He understudied as Rafi in the world premiere of 'In the Valley of the Shadow' at Hollywood Fringe Festival, 'Best of Fringe' winner. He then made his NY debut as Jaeger in the US premiere of 'Goldberg's Kaddish' at the New York Theater Festival. His film credits include 'Snapshots', 'The Juror', 'Let the Dogs Howl', 'L'aura', and 'COWBOYS', written and directed by McVay, winning 5 festival selections and 3 awards. McVay is the Co-Founder/Producer of 'Good Evening Rep', the downtown theater project begun April 2022 with shows at the Jane Hotel and NUBLU.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
McVay is a 2020 graduate of the two year Meisner Conservatory program at Terry Knickerbocker Studio. McVay has studied since with Salome Jens, Jim Brill, Catlin Adams, and currently with Lola Cohen at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City. He has also studied Stage Combat with David Brimmer and Improv at UCB.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
McVay is a former sommelier with bartending skills, an advanced snowboarder and long distance runner. He grew up playing many different sports as well. He can also work with various different dialects, voiceover work, and can play the piano.
