BIOGRAPHY:
Anna Item (Assistant Director, "Hunger Artist") is an early career, Brooklyn based director with a passion for plays that laugh, bleed, scream, celebrate friendship, center sapphics, and decenter masculinity and patriarchy. Recent NYC credits include "-in-chief" at The Tank (Assistant Director), "Gray Mud" at Theatre for the New City (Directing Shadow), and "I Eat Boys" with Kind Strangers Collective (Assistant Director). Other directing work includes "macbitches" by Sophie McIntosh, "Divine Feminine" by Kiley Gaddis, and "1900s Women Bonding" by Catherine Weingarten. She has worked at the Scranton Shakespeare Festival, Cape Playhouse, Powerhouse Theatre at Vassar College, Soho Playhouse, and Cotuit Center for the Arts and just graduated from Muhlenberg College.
