BIOGRAPHY:
Alysia is a passionate and multifaceted theater artist specializing in directing and consulting on new works. She is a queer director who uses the principles of identity-conscious acting and directing to create opening, welcoming, and diverse theatrical spaces. Her unique directing style also focused on developing strong and emotionally grounded characters and relationships using improvisation exercises. She is guided by a staging process called emotion-based blocking that prioritizes the impulses of the actors. Overall, she is an insightful and deeply dedicated theatre artist with a drive to center marginalized stories.
