BIOGRAPHY:
Allison Ognibene is an adjunct and lead faculty at Sussex County Community College in Newton, NJ. She recently completed her MFA in Performing Arts Management at Brooklyn College in 2025, and she holds a BA in Theater from DeSales University.
She has directed multiple shows, most recently her own play, "Mile 59."
Some of her favorite plays she has directed include "Silent Sky" by Lauren Gunderson; "Sylvia" by AR Gurney; "Play On!" by Rick Abbot; "She Kills Monsters" by Qui Nguyen,“12 Angry Jurors” adapted by Sherman L. Sergel and "Arsenic and Old Lace" by Joseph Kesselring
to name a few.
She has interned at Lincoln Center Festival, New York City Opera, and Dodger Productions, and then worked for a theater consulting firm, Artec Consultants. She was the public relations manager at the Newark Museum and spent many years in public relations for both the public and nonprofit sectors. She has sat on several theater boards and is a founding member and was the artistic director (2020-21) for a local community theater company, North Star Theater Company.
