BIOGRAPHY:
Alex Bernstein (Playwright) is the author of Plrknib and the Miserable series of books (Miserable Love Stories, Miserable Adventure Stories, et al). He has been a staff writer for Disney Jr.s’ P. King Duckling and Discovery Kids’ The Dog & Pony Show. He wrote and produced several plays at the Westbeth Theatre, NYC, including Rex the Veal Cow, and Lure of the Praying Mantis and most recently In Trouble at the Spark Theatre Festival, NYC. He’s founder and co-producer of the Curtains on Fire playwrights’ workshop and podcast.
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Studied theatre at Sarah Lawrence College's Workshop Theatre, The Actor's Institute, NYC; improv at the First Amendment Theatre, NYC, and the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts, NJ. Teaches improv and playwrighting in NJ and online. Runs the Curtains on Fire playwrights workshop and podcast.
