Blurb
Minstrel, a skit-based play rooted in satire observes how common-day black media is told from the white person’s perspective. Inspired by the style of “Ain’t No Mo” by Jordan E Cooper and “The Colored Museum” by George C Wolfe. Minstrel is a one-act play that asks, “Who is telling our stories?”.
THIS SHOW IS 45 MINUTES LONG
THIS ONE ACT PLAY WILL BE PERFORMED WITH OTHER PLAY WITHIN A 90-MINUTE TIME SPAN. PURCHASING A TICKET FOR THIS SHOW WILL GRANT YOU ACCESS TO SEE THE OTHER PLAY LISTED ON THE SHOW NIGHT. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE ORDER OF THE SHOW IS NOT CURRENTLY KNOWN – IT COULD BE FIRST, OR SECOND.
Bio.
Jabari Elzie is a current second year in college pursuing his BFA in Drama at The New School. He has been a theatre actor since he was eight and have been passionate about it since. Jabari is a recent graduate of The University of North Carolina School of The Arts high school program. He has been writing for the past eighteen months and Minstrel is one of his favorite projects since.
