King! emerged from Brooklyn’s Smack Mellon residency, evolving through five intensive workshops over the past year. This immersive production uniquely casts LGBTQ+ poets, writers and dancers as their own characters, weaving together performance and poetry. The piece has featured over 20 NYC artists, each bringing new dimensions to its collaborative spirit. The show is still currently un-produced.

Bio.
Gabriel Gara Lonning bridges stand-up comedy and experimental performance art, crafting bold work for NYC’s most adventurous stages. Since trading Iowa’s cornfields for downtown’s avant-garde scene at 18, he’s pushed theatrical boundaries at La MaMa, Ars Nova, MoMA PS1, and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, proving comedy thrives far beyond the confines of traditional clubs.
