FIVE SECONDS OF BLUE is a  story that commemorates the feat of survival of a mid-western non-binary teen who wears their heart on their sleeve. Accounts of love lost, friendship against all odds and the harrowing story of abuse on campus are capsuled into 90 minutes of grounded realism that bleeds into striking surrealism and absurdism that mirrors the perspective of the mind.

THIS SHOW IS 90 MINUTES LONG

THIS IS A SHORT PLAY THAT WILL BE PERFORMED WITH OTHER SHORT PLAYS WITHIN A 90 MINUTE TIME SPAN

Bio.

Brandon Marchand is a musician/composer/performer from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, who got their BFA in Musical Theatre from AMDA in Los Angeles, and moved across the country after graduating to pursue a career in musical theatre.  They started the music and script for this in 2014 and completed the full two and a half hour script and score,
with music underlying the whole show except one scene, in 2025.

MC Bodden is a poet and comic writer with a journalistic edge who tackled weaving this story together through a series of interviews and analysis. This is her writing debut featuring seven songs and script editing and autobiographical writing. She creates stories that edge on the line of drama, generational trauma and the inheritance of our legacies.

All Shows will be presented at the LATEA  THEATER »
