Blurb
As Edgar Degas sketches Marie van Goethem–the inspiration for his only exhibited sculpture, The Little Dancer of 14 Years–they banter and challenge each other, beginning a conversation about gaze, autonomy, and art’s frequent sexualization of young women. The conversation concludes when Marie returns, years later, to demand fair compensation for her image.
