Blurb

Failed artist Till can’t hold down a job — whether or not he’s good at it — but he’s also reaching the end of his creative career, unless he can come up with something that grabs the public’s attention more than landscape painting. Hunger Artist is a new play inspired by “Ein Hungerkünstler”, a short story by Franz Kafka about an artist whose art is starving himself on display.

Bio.

Sydney Duncan is a playwright based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her Drama degree from Vassar College, where her thesis, Fury, was awarded the Kazan Memorial Prize. Recent produced work includes “Memorial Play (a Rube Goldberg Machine)” at The Tank (March 2025), and a staged excerpt from “Holding the Head of Pentheus” with 46 Minutes Collective at The Brick Aux (July 2025).
