The Salerno’s anticipate the arrival of their son,
Joey from the hospital where he is being treated
for cancer. Though there is hope for his recovery,
they soon learn that Joey has married his
chemotherapy nurse who happens to be
Black and Haitian. Interspersed with the
modern story, is the history of venerated
Saint Padre Pio.
