Hello, My name is Shonita (show-nee-ta) Joshi (joe-she). I was born and raised in Pune, India. I received my under-graduate degree in Banking and Finance and completed my master’s in journalism. After working for two years for Google, I realized that my love for acting wasn’t a mere hobby but a necessity. So I moved to the city of dreams, Mumbai, where I worked in the Indian Film Industry lovingly called Bollywood. To continue honing my craft and to learn about American theatre, I decided to move to New York City to study at the Stella Adler School of Acting. I became an American citizen in January 2025 and after living and working in many cities and continents, I am lucky to call New York my home. Since graduating, I have worked in over 20 union productions in theater, over 25 commercials and in Tv shows like Law and Order:SVU. I am passionate about politics and organizing; I deeply care for animal-welfare and the environment. I am also a certified Dog Trainer and have completed two levels in horse-riding. I am also fluent in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati.
