BIOGRAPHY:
Director/Co-Author of The Thin White Line Richard has worked as a playwright at The NY Theater Workshop and NY Public Theater and collaborated with actors such as Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Rockwell, and other notable members of The LAByrinth Theater Company. He co-authored the play "Super Fishbowl Sunday '' with Reinaldo Povod and directed it Off-Broadway. Along with Povod, he was a staff writer for Robert De Niro’s "Tribeca" TV Series. Richard won the “Best Director/Short'' award for his film "Life’s a Beach" at the NYIFVF. Richard has written several plays and screenplays with his son, Joseph. Their first novel, "Fishbowl 45: The Unpresidented Parody," is adapted from their stage play of the same name and holds a 5-star rating on Amazon. This summer, Richard’s play "A Little Communion" will be staged at the Act One: One Act Play Festival at the Secret Theater in NYC. His full-length comedy "Baby Boomers" is set for production Off-Broadway in 2025. Richard can be reached at richardbarbour@gmail.com

EDUCATION / TRAINING:
BA Fine Arts; University of Rhode Island. Studied under Uta Hagen at HB Studio, Ed Kovens at the Actors Studio, and apprenticed under Joe Papp and Bill Hart at The NY Public Theater.
