BIOGRAPHY:
Anthara Shivkumar (she/her) has been performing onstage since the age of four. She grew up learning Indian Carnatic Classical Music, using her training to perform across the tri-state area. She started her musical theater journey in 2014 when she played the Pirate King in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, Jr. Since then, she’s gone on to play roles such as Jasmine in Aladdin, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, and Maria in The Sound of Music. She’s also expanded her performance experience into show choir, performing and competing with her high school’s highly selective show choir, “Choral Spectrum”. In her time there, she was a featured soloist and won Outstanding Performer in her first year. She’s also worked as a freelance artist, lending her voice to multiple demo tracks for short films. In her recent years, she’s performed at Radio City Music Hall with her college a cappella group “Vocal Synergy”, Carnegie Hall with Wagner College Choir, and acted in her fair share of smaller-budget short films. She’d like to thank her parents for supporting her career and believing in her. After all, she wouldn’t be here writing this bio for you to read if they hadn’t helped her believe that her voice was worth sharing with the world.
