BIOGRAPHY:
Annaporva Green is an Indian-born American theater artist who aims to fill in gaps in the archive with critical thinking, recentered narratives, puppets, a few too many puns, and anecdotes about clowns in her circus town. Most of her scripts are formed because she said a joke and no one — or, on occasion, many — laughed at it. She recently directed Kenneth Keng’s “AMA” (Target Margin Theater) and “Brought Up” (University Settlement), “Sunshower” by Zee Hanna (The Tank), and served as an Associate Director for Ben Heineman Jr.’s “Terror Is the Order of the Day” (dir. Tea Alagic, the Flea Theater).
She is an assistant teacher for Intimacy In Performance at NYU Tisch and Stage Combat at the Atlantic Theater School. Annaporva has puppeteered with Processional Arts Workshop and Basil Twist.
In 2019, she was featured on Snap Judgement’s No Name Aporva Parts 1 & 2 which followed her mother’s search to find Anna in India. Annaporva graduated with her B.A. in Humanities and Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies from New College of Florida in 2021. She earned her MFA in Theater at Sarah Lawrence College in 2023.
