BIOGRAPHY:
Levi Wise-Kenneth Catoe Jr. is a playwright, director, and multidisciplinary storyteller whose work explores Black memory, myth, and survival through an Afrofuturist lens. His newest work, *From The Other Side of Darkness*, reframes **The Wizard of Oz** as a meditation on grief, ancestry, and the journey Black men take toward self-definition. A former NYC theater student and working artist rooted in both community and experimental performance, Levi builds theatrical worlds where music, spirituality, and imagination collide. His writing centers voices often pushed to the margins while honoring the elders, activists, and dreamers who shaped him. Levi’s mission is to create work that heals, questions power, and reminds audiences that transformation begins with courage — and love.
