BIOGRAPHY:
Angel S. DuBose is a trailblazing fashion and costume designer whose journey in the creative arts spans nearly three decades. Armed with dual degrees—one in Business Management from Sojourner Douglass College and another in Social Public Policy from CUNY—Angel brings a fusion of artistry and strategy to her work.
Her career launched with iconic names like Tommy Hilfiger, where she served as an assistant, and Portolano, where she honed her expertise on the sales floor. Since 1995, Angel has been the mastermind behind her independent brand, Monae Amour Designs, a heartfelt tribute to her daughters, Jamorra Monae and Joli Amour. The brand encapsulates her philosophy: Motivated, Aspired, and Determined. Specializing in leather goods, bikinis, and lingerie for exotic dancers, Angel’s designs celebrate the evolving essence of mothers and daughters, merging boldness with elegance.
Angel’s dynamic career includes three years of costume and tailoring experience with luminaries such as Mary J. Blige, Rosalia, Pitbull, and productions at Neil Simon Theatre and The Wiz. Her meticulous attention to detail and mastery in pattern drafting, costume construction, and wardrobe management have made her an indispensable asset to major tours and Broadway stages.
Not just a designer, Angel is also a visionary educator, inspiring the next generation as a teaching artist. She has developed arts-integrated programs for students, empowering them to blend math and literacy with costume/ fashion.

Angel DuBose is a dedicated theatre professional with a unique blend of creative, business, and policy expertise. She holds a Business Management degree from Sojourner-Douglass College and a Master’s in Social Public Policy from the City University of New York (CUNY), combining strategic leadership with a commitment to community impact. As a proud member of IATSE, Angel brings nearly three decades of experience in costume and fashion design to the stage, supporting productions with both artistry and precision.
