BIOGRAPHY:
Daniel Halbstein is a Long Island-based composer, pianist, music director, singer, actor, and teacher. A Musement Park is his second production for the New York Theatre Festival, following 2023's production of Humanity Denied, for which he also composed the music. Additional music directing credits include 1776, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Mean Girls, Shrek, Bare: A Pop Opera, and The Drowsy Chaperone. Daniel has also appeared on stage in several productions on Long Island, including Into the Woods (Rapunzel's Prince), 1776 (Richard Henry Lee), and Guys and Dolls (Rusty Charlie). Outside of theatre, Daniel sings at Garden City's Cathedral of the Incarnation, and plays piano in a jazz duo called Ginger Snap. He teaches music theory and directs the vocal jazz ensemble at Syosset High School.
